Acquasparta is a town of 4,533 inhabitants in the province of Terni.
The Carnival of Acquasparta in Umbria is a traditional feast of the town, the expression of desire to stay together, with the pleasure of fun. Carnival represents creativity and desire to do, using the free time to achieve allegorical floats and masks.
Already in antiquity this village was famous for the curative properties of water-calcium carbonate that flow from nearby sources in the Middle Ages and was the center of a fervent cultural life, culminating with the founding of the Accademia dei Lincei, by the Prince Cesi, feudatory at the time. "Aquas Partas," Acquasparta today, showed the position of the city between Amerino sources and sources Furapane. Situated in one of the greenest areas of Umbria is still surrounded by the ruins of ancient medieval walls.
