The town of Bettona can boast ancient Etruscan origins, so much so that its foundation is dated between VIII and the seventh century BC
Too little to choose an independent policy, its fate already started building sites for construction of the fortress of Spoleto. Since then, the history of this ancient village is linked to the fate of the Papal States until the existence of the latter. To see the church of St. Maria Maggiore, the small collection of art in the palace of the mayor and the remains of Etruscan walls and medieval.
