The oldest traces of life (some fragments of tools on flint blade and various fragments of vases not turned into dough) date back to Neolithic. The discovery of two vases cinerari (preserved nell'Antiquarium the Palazzo Comunale) reported human presence in a period between the ninth and the eighth century BC. Between the third and the first century BC formed numerous inhabited (generally small) dedicated mainly to agricultural activity and that craft. The first documents:

On November 9, 1860 is published the plebiscite for the annexation of the Province of Perugia to the Kingdom of Italy: 97,000 votes in favour and 386 against.
