The town of Marsciano is nominated for the first time in 1004, but its origins, like those of most countries born in the centuries following the barbarian invasions, are unclear.
I Bulgarelli, a family of Lombard origin, were already in feud in the twelfth century, and ceded perugia in 1281 to prevent it impossessasse Todi. Once the autonomy of Perugia, incorporated in the state Pontifical even Marsciano followed the fortunes. The wonderful visions that offers the complex surrounding the hilly country recall the paintings of the Umbrian masters of 400. Remarkable, in the country, a fresco by Perugino in the Parish of Cerqueto.
