Todi is a town of 16,512 inhabitants in the province of Perugia.
It rises on a hill whose top slightly exceeds the 400-meter faces on the average of the Tiber valley.
The municipality, one of the largest in the region, is mostly hilly consists of a myriad of small settlements. The main centers, in addition to the town of Todi, are Pantalla and the area of Ponterio-Pian port also understand that the industrial area of the city.
The city can be seen as divided into two distinct areas: the inside the medieval walls divided into districts and the new post outside the walls divided into districts.
The main districts of the city are: St. Stephen, Sant'Arcangelo, Crucifix, Capuchin District Europe Broglino and Torre Squadrata.
Intenamente the walls you can find districts: Santa Prassede, Santa Maria, Lower Valley, San Fortunato, Port Fratta and Porta Romana.
Todi Art Festival - is held usually in the last week of July. It is an annual overview of theatre and lyrical prose, dance, music and ethnic, visual arts and literary meetings. For years was directed by Silvano Spada under the name TodiFestival, while from 1997, with the change of name, Art Direction is entrusted all'attrice Simona Marchini.
Todinotte - is held in July and August, bringing in the squares of the city folk music concerts, ethnic and modern.
Market - is held in the main square of the city every second Sunday of the month.
Fiera di San Martino - The November 11 the streets of the historic center are filled with stalls transforming the entire city into a big market.
There are ongoing celebrations for the seventh centenary of the death of Jacopone da Todi (1306-2006). The event began in August and will continue until May 2007.
