The Protected Area is located in the western part of the region and consists of two separate cores namely that of Mount Peglia and in Selva di Meana. The woods here are mainly formed by several species of quercine, holm oak and pine black that is very present. The fauna is quite rich and among the most interesting guests can find the cat Selvatico, wild boars, deer, wolf, the porcupine, marten. Between those these birds are the real owl, green woodpecker, barbagianni and kestrel. It is also significant micologico heritage of the area that includes macro-hypogeous mushrooms.
